Looking through parish records yesterday for information on men Im researching,

I came across a man who served in the RAMC attd Director General Medical

Services,could anyone explain the Director General Medical Services.

Hi Doug,

Ian Whiteheads "Doctors in the Great War" says that "in addition to issuing guidance on medical treatment, the DGMS acted to ensure that all instructions were vetted with a view to ensuring a high level of uniformity of method and proceedure throughout the medical services."
