From March 1916 to November 1918 the Battalion served in the Nasirabad Brigade.

NASIRABAD being a town and cantonment in the district of Aimere, Rajputana. It forms the headquarters of the brigade in the 5th division of the Southern Army of India.

The Southern Army stretched from Baluchistan to southern India. It had four divisions in India plus two outside as follows:

4th (Quetta) Division

5th (Mhow) Division

6th (Poona) Division

9th (Secunderabad) Division

Burma Division

Aden Brigade

According to John Wm. Burrows, The War 1914 - 1919, Vol. 6, The Service Battalions:

"The 2nd Garrison Battalion , formed also in 1915, was sent to India in 1916 and was located in Mhow area. It was disbanded in January, 1920, when the cadre was sent to Deolali." (Page 431.)
