Chris Caul Posted 2 October , 2003 Share Posted 2 October , 2003 In Kelly's 1912 directory of Derbyshire it lists the following territorial force units being in Derby: Derbyshire Yeomanry Royal Field Artillery 1st and 2nd Derbyshire (howitzer) batteries 4th North Midland (howitzer) ammunition column 5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters. Can anyone tell me if any of these units served in Mesopotamia during the war (assuming they still existed then), or can anyone point me in the right direction to find out myself please. Many thanks, Chris
Terry_Reeves Posted 2 October , 2003 Share Posted 2 October , 2003 Chris All the units you have mentioned spent their war in France. The exception to this was the 1/1st Derbyshire Yeomanry who served in Gallipoli, Egypt and Macedonia. Terry Reeves
