staffsreg Posted 20 April , 2006 Share Posted 20 April , 2006 Why/how was the title 'Rough Riders' bestowed upon the City of London Yeomanry, in particular the 925th Horse Transport Co.? was it unique to this Company? It sounds like a title given to a US cavalry troop!

andigger Posted 21 April , 2006 Share Posted 21 April , 2006 The American Version was from the Spanish American war - Rough Riders. They were most famous for the charge up San Juan Hill in Puerto Rico and of course because Teddy Roosevelt was also amongst their number - Lt Col and second in command. He later became 26th President. Andy
