AEvans Posted 11 April , 2006 Share Posted 11 April , 2006 I would be grateful for any help anyone can offer me. My grandfather Bill Shore enlisted in the Gloucesters in Bristol on 10 November 1914 aged 16 years 11 months and served with the RAMC until his discharge 12 June 1919. I understand that his service number is one given to TF men after 1917 from a batch allocated to the 330th Field Ambulance (County of London TF Association). What’s odd is that this unit only served at home, but he definitely served overseas cause he was awarded 2 medals, and I believe he was gassed. Ideally I would like to trace which battles he was present at and why his number is associated with the County of London TF Association, rather than a local one. Can anyone point me in the right direction or throw any light on number issue please.
