Myrtle Posted 7 April , 2006 Share Posted 7 April , 2006 Just found a pc in the market. It's in good condition, so must have been looked after for the last 90 years. It is addressed to Lance Corp. Harry Bradfield; "C" Company 11th Platoon; 8th (Res) Batt. Middx Regt; Casemates Barracks; Gibraltar. It was sent by Harry's cousin Ethel from Notting Hill 5th April 1915 and arrived in Gibraltar 20th April. It reads: With all good wishes for a Happy Birthday and many of them. I should think Gibraltar a lovely place by your letters. Auntie gave me one of your photos which I think was splendid. Much love & all good wishes ever your loving cousin Ethel. Sadly Harry who was L/Cpl Harry Bradfield TF 3253 2/8th Middlesex Regiment, did not celebrate any more birthdays. He died aged 21 years on the 14th October 1915 in Egypt. I wonder what happened to his photographs from Gibraltar ? Myrtle
