Desmond7 Posted 5 April , 2006 Share Posted 5 April , 2006 I would love to know if anyone has identified any of the soldiers from 13th RF who appear in a pretty famous picture taken of men from the Bn. on 7th July/16 at Albert? This was immediately after they made a successful attack at La Boiselle. They are all having a lark with captured German helmets, pipes, bayonets, lugers etc. There are some superb character studies in this group and I have often wondered if any were ever id'd .. and what happened to them. Steven Broomfield Posted 5 April , 2006 Share Posted 5 April , 2006 Des, the occasion gets a mention in Guy Chapman's "A passionate prodigality", pages 97/98 of the 'Echoes of war' edition (pb, 1985), but sadly doesn't appear to mention any of the men involved, I'm afraid.
