HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 30 March , 2006 Share Posted 30 March , 2006 Basically,A soldiers papers of enlistment,attesting{ie:stating} his name,NoK;age,Birthplace,Trade or Calling,etc;these together with the rest of his service papers are{if they survive}held @ the National Archive [WO/364],@ Kew but not @ present coming on line{though Naval ones are,as are Canadian ones on their Site.} The Long Long Trail{link @ head of this forum}gives details of what & where these are to be found} A sample Attestation Form WW1.
