David_Blanchard Posted 21 September , 2003 Share Posted 21 September , 2003 While looking at the relatively new features of the CWGC website, I came across a HITCHMOUGH, FREDERICK WILLIAM Royal Garrison Artillery 255th Siege Bty the only soldier buried in SOISSONS COMMUNAL CEMETERY Has anyone else come across a cemetery on the Western Front that has only one British or Commomwealth soldier? uncle bill Posted 21 September , 2003 Share Posted 21 September , 2003 I found a lone grave in the communal cemetery at Frise, a lovely village on the banks of the Somme.
Terry Denham Posted 21 September , 2003 Share Posted 21 September , 2003 David There are literally hundreds of them - both in churchyards and communal cemeteries. If anyone really wants to know where they all are, I could send them a list!
