Remembered Today:

Captain P M Campbell

I wonder if anyone can help, I'm trying to find the London Gazette entries and any associated citation's for the following officer:-

Captain Patrick Maitland Campbell of the Ayrshire Yeomanry

Commisioned as a Second Lieutenant 20 Mar 1911

Lieutenant 5 Sep 1914

Captain 30 Aug 1917

He is rumored to have been awarded the MC and bar, he is listed in the Army List in approx. July 1917 with MC against his entry, but looking in subsequent Army List's up to 21 Jan 1919 when he left the Army there isn't a second award listed.

Plus from Jan 1917 the Ayrshire Yeomanry became the 12th (Ayr and Lanark Yeomanry) Bn, the Royal Scots Fusiliers and to confuse things further he was attached to the 3rd Reserve Btn Royal Scots in August 1918.

Regards,

Alan.

Alan

War Services of Officers in the Army Quarterly List ending 31 December 1919 has him as still serving in the Ayrshire Yeomanry and confirms that he did receive a bar to his MC.
