Female Casualty - Can't find any info on this lady

I know it has been a while but.........

A pal has just posted photos of the Airdrie High School War memorial and it includes

AGNES C McDONALD, QUEEN MARY'S NURSES. AIR RAID LONDON 1917.

Her name appears on FreeBMD in JUNE Quarter 1917 as

AGNES C MACDONALD age 22. Death Registered at ELHAM, KENT.

Hi

Her full name was Agnes Curran McDonald, died Victoria Hospital Folkestone on 2nd June 1917 (? 1st), aged 22yrs, buried 13th June at Cheriton Road Cemetery, grave No,1874 Section C. She was injured in the Air raid on Friday, 25th May 1917.

Agnes Curran McDonald was born 13th Jan1896 in Ontario, Canada, one of 5 children, parents John and Elizabeth nee Wesson born Somerby, Leicestershire, England. married 10th June 1891, Simcoe, Ontario.

Hi All

This was the great air raid on Tontine Street, Folkestone, Agnes CurrEn McDonald was a stenographer, lodging with the Jackman family at 12 Connaught Road, she was waiting to go to France for "ambulance work".

Thanks for that information Barry.

However can I ask about the source for the Canadian connection.

I had thought that Agnes might have been born as Agnes Curran Macdonald in 1894 in Cumbernauld, Dunbartonshire - which is just up the road from Airdrie (ish)

Hi Ken

A couple of sources from Google re the great air raid, one lists the casualties and quotes "Canadian lady",  Another from a family tree on Ancestry and from the 1901 Canadian Census.
