Hi robins2, very interesting site thanks for your help.

Though I am specifically looking for a photographic postcard view of Doeberitz P.O.W. Camp.

All the best, Johnny.

I have only today discovered that my grandfather was taken prisoner in WW1 during the battle of Le Cateau on 26/08/1914. He was held prisoner in Von Doberitz Camp. I knew he had been captured but not when or where until now. It may seem trivial. But I am overjoyed that I can research him a little if only just the battle he fought in.

Hi Jane,

Welcome to the forum.

If you'd like to post some details about your grandfather (eg name, unit, service number, genealogical info, etc), I'm pretty sure that there are forum members who would be more than happy to try to help you with your research.

Regards

Chris

This is the rear side of a post card sent by Alexander Knowles, RND, back to Stonehaven from Doberitz. The front side is a photograph of a group of men outside, presumably, a pow hut.
