I just wanted to make the point that I am genuinely interested to find out the spread of members and how many countries are covered and not just to attempt to beat the world record.

I have seen posts from the UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Germany and even Japan to name but a few.

Apologies if this question has already been raised but I guess the answer is changing every day.

Liam

Maybe just a little too proud, so i am told

We go back to 1650 in Messingham, Lincs. Stow line.

Back to 1190 in or around the Rhineland with Humberstone/Hummerstein line.

France with the Bulleyment line - came accross 1066 with the Conquerer.

All the James Johnson's back to 1750 from East Yorks, before then Yarm and the Scottish Borders,

Borthwickbrae.

A stack a Mantle's from Shrophire/Worcester/Hereford

Central New York State, close to Canada and the Great lakes, far away from New York City and the teeming millions.

This is probably a question for Chris but now that we have over 11000 members it would be interesting to know where in the world forum members live and which countries are covered.

I have seen posts from the UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Germany and even Japan to name but a few.

Liam,

England via Scotland(luckily I've not had to apply for dual Nationality, yet)

If you want to go for the Guiness Book of records why not ask for Provinces,States,Departments, and Counties.

Living up the road, in a big Town in Cheshire, I am tempted, but as you ask a serious question I'll resist it

Hope you've got a good Atlas, though, as someone will probably ask you to identify the locations.

George(very tongue in cheeek)

I tell you what would be fun.

It would be interesting to be able to assess hereditary regimental allegiances or decent. Would this be reflective of the size or number bns. of GW regiments.

Can we do this in some way Chris Baker?

I will even open a book on the outcome.

I give you 5-1 on the Manchesters being most prolific. Alas, I think the Connaughts may be way out at around 1,000-1
