Belgian Coast, Knokke,

also called the 'Garden of the North Sea'

Knokke was founded in the early Middle Ages by Irish missionaries, they called it 'Cnock', to indicate part of land on a higher level than the sea.

Regards,

Cnock

G'day Liam and to the 350 or so members of the GWF that have responded to this thread.

Curiously, I note that despite the number of responses and the great global dispersal of members to this wonderful machine/tool/asset/source/thingy why do so many members fail to give their residential country in their members profile?

Each member has the right to privacy - I am not being nosey - just curious.

Could it be that they leave this out so as not to reveal that they come from

Wales/France/USA/Tasmania (delete some so as to leave your prejudice!)

Because Northamptonshire is so quintessentially English.

Prejudice?

I would like to think that GWF members are above such a global malady!

You forgot Us. The Aussies.

There are at least 14 that I can bring to mind straight away, and not including one who has many aliases.

Cheers

Kim

I know this is an old post but the 'many aliases' statement jumped out at me. Many years ago I was on a French language forum where one person had at least six different forum names, said they lived in different countries and they had conversations with themselves as well as with others. Someone PMd me and told me what was going on and that all the old timers knew about it. I steered clear of forums for years after that. Is this still going on? I thought maybe things had improved somewhat with technology so that we don't have "one who has many aliases". But maybe not.
