This is Whitton. Between Llandrindod Wells & Presteigne.

Nice 6 sided memorial and stunning location:

But look at the wording on the panels:

What they have done is to inscribe their dedication; 'Greater love hath no man etc' on each panel word by word above and below the names of the fallen.

Give a very odd impression at first sight. Has anyone else seen this sort of thing?

I've seen a few examples of memorials with the wording laid out like this. I suppose it uses the 3D nature of the memorial to its full advantage, but I know what you mean about it giving a very odd impression!

The Memorial was unveiled and dedicated by the Bishop of Swansea at 3pm on Sunday, 29th May, 1921.  Elijah Gough, stone mason of Knighton produced the war memorial, from plans produced by Mr Herbert Luck North of Llanfairfechan, Caernarvonshire.
