Hi Christine,

Is it your intention to start a list on this subject?

if so can I add the following details gleaned from 'The Naval Who's Who 1917'

"Diary of Events - War Supplement"

18 October 1914

German Hospital Ship "Ophilia" (suspected of scouting) captured

30 October 1914

Hospital Ship "Rohilla" lost in gale off Whitby

17 November 1915

Hospital Ship "Anglia" sunk by mine in Channel

21 November 1916

Hospital Ship "Britannic" sunk by mine or torpedo in Aegean Sea

24 November 1916

Hospital ship "Braemar Castle" announced sunk by mine or torpedo in Aegean Sea

On a more frivolous level, can I also draw attention to the following oversight by their Lordships of the Admiralty

"5 November 1914 - The Kaiser and Prince Henry of Prussia removed from the Navy List"

Three months after the war began! What were they thinking of?

Regards

Michael D.R.
