CWGC Search.

When searching the CWGC site for a member of the artillery could someone tell me what keywords are required in the "regiment" box.?

Have tried all variations I can think of but to no avail.

You need the exact regiment title - starting at the beginning.

Try

Royal Horse Artillery

Royal Garrison Artillery

Royal Field Artillery etc as appropriate. They will work.

The presentation of the regt name tends to be the official one rather than the common usage version.

There was a discussion about this on another thread recently. This is one part of the current CWGC site that does not work too well as you can't search for a partial regt name except from the beginning (ie 'Royal Horse' would work but 'Horse Artillery' wouldn't)

Believe it or not I was using the full title and getting nowhere.

Tried again later and now it works fine - "gremlins"?

Those gremlins get everywhere!

I am not suggesting that your typing is not up to scratch but you do have to be very careful. Just adding an extra space stops the search working let alone the odd full stop etc!!!
