Hi, can anyone identify this badge?, may not even be military, but something to do with Cardiff? Badge measures 30mm by 35mm.

Thanks,

Bill

Looks to be Civic/Police/Fire?

Could well be Cardiff as the Central Dragon/Standard device was used by the Cardiff Pals in a Collar Badge.

It could be a Police badge, I don't think it is a Fire Brigade badge.

FB badges are usually in two parts, the first is the Home Office star and attached to that is the Brigade crest.

Does have a Cardiff ring to it though.

Could this be a council livery badge?

Cheers,

Rob

:ph34r: what is the latin motto on the badge

Its in the "Welsh" look you isn't it :blink:

"Deffro Mae'n Dydd" ~"Awake it is the Day"

"Y Ddraig Goch Ddyry Gychwyn" ~ "The Red Dragon Will Lead"

The same motto is used on the 16th Welsh Regiment The Cardiff Pals Collar/Cap Badge which itself was utilised from a Local Authority Badge {Below}
