I was thinking just that as I typed, Bob. different causes of course, but then the actions of rioters and looters are the same regardless of that. Post war there were also serious riots of Canadian troops waiting repatriation from army camps in the UK, again different causes, but the same sort of destruction and mayhem.

Thanks again to all for their input on this aspect of my project. In the end I identified two negatives to have been taken in Roman Road, Bow and one just round the corner from where I work - in Cable St. There was a family tree web page for the shop owner with the address of the shop! Perfect. The internet can be wonderful.
