Remembered Today:

Convalescing in Exeter, 1914/15

From some photograph captions, my Great Grandfather was convalescent in Exeter following his return from France where he was wounded in September 1914. He arrived back in the UK in October, and was discharged the following year. I am trying to find out where he would have been convalescing, and if there may be some records held somewhere of patients and dates etc, or something akin to a unit diary. His service records didn't survive, but I have got a fair boit of detail together and so am now heading for the more outer parts of the story.

There are nurses and orderlies in uniform, men in varied uniforms (indicatikng different regiments) and with a mix of leg, head and arm wounds, and the men are in service caps and hospital blues (or hospital sepias perhaps?!!)

Any help greatly appreciated!

thanks,

mark
