Chris P Posted 29 December , 2005 Share Posted 29 December , 2005 I'm sure this is an easy one for someone. Just need to know what corps/regiment these buttons belong to.......thanks! chrisP.
Graham Stewart Posted 29 December , 2005 Share Posted 29 December , 2005 Chris, They're Life Guards buttons. The one on the left looks like the 1st Life Guards pattern and should have a figure 1 between the monogram and crown, but I can't see due to the reflecting light, it was worn from 1902-1922. The one on the right was introduced in 1928. Graham.
Chris P Posted 29 December , 2005 Author Share Posted 29 December , 2005 Thankyou Graham........There is no number 1 on the left button.....it is just as you see it......but that gives me something to go on.....are there any references available for button ID's do you know..? Graham Stewart Posted 29 December , 2005 Share Posted 29 December , 2005 Chris, All I have is "Buttons of the British Army 1855-1970" by Howard Ripley. There is another book, but I can't remember it's title, but think the author was Gwen Squire. Graham.
