Hi Pals

Does anyone know for sure where the 14th CCS was 4 Sept 1918 please?

And if anyone knows, are there records at the NA for this station on this date?

Many thanks :D

Steve

Steve

No 14 General and No 14 Stationary Hospitals were at Wimereaux from 1914 to 1919.

(Note they were not designated as a CCS according to the Location of CCS compiled by Ministry of Pensions).

Sorry can’t help with the last part of your query.

Hope this helps

Regards

John

Obviously somewhere other than the Western Front :) There's a diary from 1915 onwards, and for that period is in WO95/5372. I can have a look when I'm at the NA next - is it for anything/anyone in particular?

It must be!

John - thanks Pal, that would explain why I coudnt see the info I was looking for!! Helps if you look for the right thing doesnt it!

Sue - Lovely info, thanks. Am researching one of the flying aces for a mate. He was sent there 4 Sept 1918 & never returned to his unit. Hubert cecil Hunt DFM, Sgt of the 22 Squadron, RAF with 8 victories to his name. Would be the cherry on the top if I could find him recorded & what he went in for, as he's in the Air1 records many times! If youre there before week 3 Jan, then i would be really grateful for a pic of anything you find, but if not, no worries as i expect to be there myself w/c 16th jan (famous last words of course!!).

excellent stuff, as ever - thank you :D
