Remembered Today:

French inscription on postcard

Here is a picture of a French handstamped inscription, "O.P.L.A.M D'Orient", on the back of a postcard. I would like to find out, if possible, what the initials stand for.

Thanks,

Can't give it, I'm afraid, but I think the French force sent to the Mediterranean area (Salonika, Gallipoli, etc) was "d'Orient" - certainly the Corps Expeditionnaire d'Orient (CEO) was landed at Gallipoli. The Greek lettering on the card ties in. My guess is something O P L Armee de Marche d'Orient.

Well, it's a start <_<
