WOW! Thank you all so much for this information although tinged with sadness to learn his medals have been auctioned. My mum had his medals for many years before harassment from her brother led to giving him the medals supposedly to put into Stirling Castle as he lived in the area. After his death my mum asked his son about the medals and he said he’d never heard of them?! Considering he was called after my grandfather I find it hard to believe he hadn’t heard the story, but now to see them up for auction....well....this deserves more investigation is all I can say right now. Thank you again I can’t express how grateful I am!
