mmm45 Posted 21 December , 2005 Share Posted 21 December , 2005 Hi Wonder if any one can help. If a soldier survived the trenches and returned to civvy life was he entitled to a military pension? Would those pension records be available at the National archive? Also has anyone got any information on if any Battalions of the Kings Regiment(L,Pool) reinforced the North Staffs Regiment? My grandad 96322 Pte WH Tallon has both Regiments on his MIC.He definately survived the war. Muerrisch Posted 21 December , 2005 Share Posted 21 December , 2005 A pension if a pre-war regular with requisite service: usually 18 or more reckonable years. A DCM added to that pension but not an MM. And / or wounded or disabled by causes associated with active service. Other than that, no.
