patwilliams121 Posted 21 December , 2005 Share Posted 21 December , 2005 My grandfather William Henry Fletcher born 1889 served with the Royal Marines and was stationed at Portsmouth. He was injured by shrapnel whilst in the Dardenelles, and was brought home to Manchester where he was hospitalised. This is all I know, except that he was supposedly in St Mary's Hospital in 1916, but as he married in the first quarter of 1916, I wondered whether his injuries were sustained in 1915.
