I was wondering if any of you blokes know how this officer met his end?

He enlisted in the AIF in Brisbane Australia 26th December 1914 embarking with the 3rd Reinforcment to the 5th ALHR.

He may have been on Gallipoli but he did transfer to the British Army and granted an commision in the 9th Bn Sherwood Foresters 23rd October 1915.

He is shown in the CWGC as having died with the 56th Air Trg Station RAF 4th November 1918.

Was it a training accident or sickness?

Also his name is not mentiond in "Soldiers died in the Great War" CD I have.

Can anyone fill in some of these gaps?

Thanks

S.B

"Airmen Died in the Great War" by Chris Hobson has a little extra information: Lt de Bathe was a native of Westminster, London, and was aged 29 when he died.
