Brothers in Arms

I'm trying to trace two brothers, Frank and Thomas Richards. I know that they were born in Eastbourne, Thomas in 1893 and Frank in 1896. Details so far: Frank was killed on 30th June 1916 at the battle of Richebourg L'Avoue. I have no other information.

I believe that Thomas may have served with a Yeomanry Regiment as a Cavalry Captain in Palestine, but I can find no records.

I have seen a medal with, printed around the edge '1439 Pt T Richards E.R. of York Y'. The medal has an image of a king's head and angel, and is star shaped with crossed swords.

Thanks in advance! adrian

Steve: Thanks for this. This medal is certainly the one I have had sight of - but I can't link it to the family! It's getting rather confusing. It could be that Private Thomas of ERYY later became a captain, serving in Palestine. I now have to pursue that route. Thanks again. adrian
