Does anyone know who the first British soldier KIA and what regiment he belonged to?

L/14196 Pte John Parr 4th Bn Middlesex Regt died age 20 on 21st August 1914. Son of Edward Thomas and Alice Rosina Parr of 52 Lodge Lane North Finchley. Believed to be the first battle casualty of the war.

256265 Pte George Lawrence Price 28th Bn Canadian Infantry(Saskatchewan Regiment) who died age 25 on 11/11/1918. Son of James E and Annie R Price of Port Williams Kings Co Nova Scotia believed to be the last battle casualty.

Both are buried in St Symphorien Military Cemetery.

Virtually opposite each other, visiting this cemetery is very moving.
