Guest AmericanDoughboy Posted 19 July , 2004 Share Posted 19 July , 2004 Also, the British series and book by Richard Van Emdem "The Trench" offers a very good history of one of the battalions serving on the Somme in 1916. -Doughboy

Pozieres Posted 2 August , 2004 Share Posted 2 August , 2004 Hello Dave, You seem to have found full time employment. If you don't mind, Im trying to find some info about the East Yorks action on/ around 23/04/1917. At the moment I don't know the battalion of the soldier in question, so any mention would be greatly appreciated. He is buried at Arras if that helps. Thank you. Just a thought - SDGW or the CWGC site should be able to give you his battalion. What is the soldier's name? Dave.
