paul guthrie Posted 21 August , 2003 Share Posted 21 August , 2003 We are going to use a picture of the chapel in one of our US WFA publications. Do I have the name just right? Am I correct that it is to 1915 Artois dead only? We discussed Tour de France recently, this chapel has a plaque to 1909 winner Francois Faber died 18 May 15 at Carency 1st Regiment Etrangers. Thanks.
AOK4 Posted 21 August , 2003 Share Posted 21 August , 2003 Hello Paul, If I'm not mistaken, the chapel is for all the French dead in the Artois (and even Flanders) and not only 1915. I have read somewhere that a lot of the unknown French soldiers from Flanders were reburied there. The correct name is Notre Dame de Lorette.
