Guest garthunt Posted 29 November , 2005 Share Posted 29 November , 2005 My grandfather, Private15725 Frank Pickering of Liverpool, was killed by shell fire while clearing wire on 16th October 1916. He died with three other soldiers and is buried with them in Euston Road cemetary, Colincamps. The others are Privates D Ellicott, A Cavers and N Worthington. On that day they were in billets at Bertrancourt in Divisional Reserve. There seems much less information about the 8th Bn. KOLR than the regiments other Battalions. I would be grateful for any pointers to finding out more about the Battalion, especially for the months leading up what should have been a relatively restful 16th October.
