Does anyone know whether K & J's, the printers, on West Bromwich High Street, had a war memorial?

Is there any way of finding out?

Thanks

Ray

I'll ask my old man he worked there for a number of years he might remember if there was one.

Yes there was one, it was in the boardroom. It recorded the names of all who served and of those who died during the war. The names were inscribed in goldleaf on high quality wood. My dad said as far as he knows it was there on the day the factory closed, whether it's still there is anyone's guess.

Thanks very much for that information. Hopefully, the plaque hasn't been destroyed. My great uncle (L/Cpl E. s. Timmins DCM) worked there before 1914. My new project is to track the memorial down and research the names on it. This is the first of many stepping stones. I'll let you know how I get on, via this thread.

Thanks

Ray

Still no luck in this department. I'm wondering who I might contact in order to find out about this memorial.

Thanks
