Hello,

Does anyone have a trench map of the cambrin area which has marked on it-

Gibson {s} Crater ?

There is a copy of a map {Trench Map sheet 36C N.W. of La Bassee, Edition 7C] in one of the Then and Now books, which seems to have it marked on it, but it is so small and faint that I cannot be sure it is.

Cpl. Robert M. Gibson of the 2nd Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders wone the DCM for the action he fought here to secure the mine, which was blown by the 180th Coy, RE's. I have been unable, so far to find out where he came from and his service papers are not at Kew.

Any help would be great,

Stewart
