Conor Dodd Posted 22 November , 2005 Share Posted 22 November , 2005 Hi, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a researcher that covers wound badges with the prefix "C" before the number i.e. Canadians, I don't know where the records for these are held but I presume it is in Canada. Ed Matthews Posted 1 December , 2005 Share Posted 1 December , 2005 Unfortunately, the rolls for Canadian issue Silver War Badges have yet to be located within the Canadian Archival system (if, indeed, they still exist?). However, the rolls for badges C1-C858 do exist at the National Archives if you're lucky enough to have an example in that range (WO329/3255) - I have a copy if you require a look-up. "Canadian War Service Badges, 1914-1954" by Robbie Johnson (1995) includes some detail on the Canadian Silver War Badge (which was one of at least four badges issued by the authorities). Sadly, Robbie died not long after his book was published and it is probably quite hard to come by in the UK but I have a copy if you require any information (I assisted him with the SWB sections!). Hope the above is of some use. Ed
