Guest Brummy Posted 20 November , 2005 Share Posted 20 November , 2005 I have not been on here for a while so Hi to all out there. Anyway down to the nitty grity. I encountered today (Sunday 20th November) a TV crew in Ieper asking about explosives taken from battlefields onto ferries. I am sure many on this site remember how the diggers where misrepresented on TV a few years ago by sensation seeking reporters and how these people can very easily take quotes out of context and how easily the unknowledgable are swayed by what they see on telly. So if you encounter these people please be carefull what you say to them and warn anybody you know about them. Brummy
Martin Brown Posted 21 November , 2005 Share Posted 21 November , 2005 There is a crew making another archaeology programme out there so they may be covering the "dug-ups" issue. The collection and illegalk transport of these objects IS an issue and maybe it should be aired because we all know it DOES go on endangering the "collector" and the rest of the passengers and crew. It is, of course, also illegal, but you all know that!

I have encountered several TV crews in my time Some good some bad and some indifferent. This crew showed all the signs, in my humble opinion, of being unprofesional s**t stirrers. They where ill prepared and showed no signes of having any kind of real preparitory research and stooped to using conversational trickery when asking questions. Most of us will have encountered in life the type of worthless scum who having had a full and rounded veuw of a subject put to them will pick out things that they have been told, out of context, to presetent an untruthful image of the teller to others. Now imagine this type of reprobate with broadcasting equipment. There are plenty of good reporting teams out there but please remember that there are plenty of bad ones too.
