Bernard

The Coldtreamers had three regular battalions. 4th and 5th (Reserve) Battalions were raised for wartime service during the Great War. 4th and 5th and 6th battalions were raised for wartime service during WW2. None of the books I have mention a 6th. Battalion prior to 1941 however that doen't mean one didn't exist earlier another PAL may have the linl you need.

There was a 1st (Provisional) Battn in mid 1918. Any possibilities there - it was at Aldershot.

Bernard,

Probably a clerical error, as no source material I have points to there being a 6th Bn, Coldstream Gds.

Graham.

Hello

Not heard of the 6th

BUT did read on some service papers once that the 7th was an entrenching battalion. Never seen a reference to it again mind so you never know about the 6th
