Graham Stewart Posted 17 November , 2005 Share Posted 17 November , 2005 Harry, Their H.Q. was located at the Barracks, Silver Street, Ely, Cambs and the Battalion C.O. was Capt. F. Robertson. I have the reprint of the October 1918 Volunteer List, but no initials can be matched among the officers present. Graham.
Chief_Chum Posted 18 November , 2005 Share Posted 18 November , 2005 Maybe the initials were those of the Quartermaster Sergeant? Whoever signed it it's a nice piece of ephemera. The museum at Chatteris have an original late war 'V Cambs' Service Dress tunic in their collection. I believe that one of the Chums has an original Officers Cambridgeshire Regiment tunic with the bronze 'V's under the collar badges too. There seems to be very little interest in the Great War Volunteer battalions and certainly very little written about them. I have a few original Suffolk VTC and Volunteer Battalion items in my own collection but rarely come across anyone else who is interested in them. Cheers, Taff PS: Nice to see my Cambridgeshire Regiment cap badge on your avatar...

Is there any special reason that red ink was used, would the boots have been an issue on "Repayment"???? Just a thought. Regards, C.T.
