stevenbecker Posted 13 November , 2005 Share Posted 13 November , 2005 Mates, I am trying to find details of a british officer and his family. Wallace Maude alias Cornwallis Charles Wyndham Maude was an officer in the AIF who claimed serive in the Worcester Regt pre great War and served in the Boer War with units of the Cape Mounted Rilfes and Frontier LH. Now on his death with C Sqn 9 LHR on Gallipoli he claimed his father as LtGen CO Maude British Army. Do you know who this officer was and any Family details. Thanks for any insight. stevenbecker Posted 13 November , 2005 Author Share Posted 13 November , 2005 Mates, Thanks for the reply's. It appears that his father was a Gen Cornwallis Maude of the British Army who appears to have died in 1896. Wallace's 1st cousin was Gen Sir Frederick Stanley Maude of Iraq fame.
