These ranks apply only to the technical trades in the RNAS

There were also

2nd Class Aircraftsman

1st Class Aircraftsman

Leading Aircraftsman

Petty Officer (aircraftsman)

Chief Petty Officer (Aircraftsman) who served in non technical trades of the RNAS such as storemen, labourers etc.

There were also members of the RNAS in the normal naval trades such as stewards, cooks, writers, but with F official numbers. RN members of the same trades also were attached to the RNAS, but keeping their original naval numbers. In compliment lists etc. which include both of these latter men they are often distinguished by either (Air Service) or (Naval Service) to distinguish between them

Yes, not sure about that, but have seen it in RNAS it was removed from service in 1919 and the Leading Air Mechanic created. Not to sure if it was RNAS or RAF
