Chris_Baker Posted 11 August , 2003 Share Posted 11 August , 2003 This is a subject that keeps coming up, so my apologies. Does anyone know what a prefix of WT4 means, in the numbering of a soldier of the Army Service Corps?
Stuart Brown Posted 11 August , 2003 Share Posted 11 August , 2003 Does anyone know what a prefix of WT4 means, in the numbering of a soldier of the Army Service Corps? Not necessarily the answer but might help:- W - RA, RE, ASC prefix denotes Welshman. T4 - ASC prefix Auxillary Horse Transport (331 Coy) So if you add them together ? Chris_Baker Posted 11 August , 2003 Author Share Posted 11 August , 2003 Give that man a cigar! The chap I'm looking at was in 330 Company. I will now try to remember that W=Welsh!
Terry Posted 12 August , 2003 Share Posted 12 August , 2003 I am a bit embarassed to say so, but can someone direct me to a neat concise list of the various ASC abbreviations? As a newcomer to this site, I realise that it has probably been done before. However, my grandfather's medal group (QSA,KSA,trio) features the following number on the trio: T1SR-625. As I don't collect Service Corps medals, I would like to be a bit better informed on the numbering system. Perhaps on some web site there must be a master list?
