Attached is a photo of a Casualty List for a trench raid on the 8th October 1916 by the 2/22 London Regiment. Those killed were buried at Louez Military Cemetery. This list was contained in the files of the 2/21 London Regiment at at the NA.

A fair sized raid with three companies involved or was it a number of platoons from the companies?

Looks like the raid was made up of members from other Regiments as well as there are some Gallantry Awards for the raid which I shall post later. These awards were made to members of other London Battalions.

The comment next to the names of Pte's Reedman & Warrier say "During Duncan".

Any ideas what this means? Is it possibly the name of the operation?

Hi Paul

The L/Cpl TL Barden listed as "Wounded - Shell Shock" is my wife's grandfather. Thanks for posting - this adds to the picture we have of his service.

Regards

John
