kinnethmont Posted 26 October , 2005 Share Posted 26 October , 2005 I wonder if any of the nautical Pals can help? If a Scots soldier died in action overseas his death was returned to the Scottish Registrars in Edinburgh ( Service Returns) for recording and subsequent issue of Death Certificate. Can anyone advise the position for a member of the Mercantile Marine or RNR who was a Scotsman but resident in England?
Kath Posted 1 November , 2005 Share Posted 1 November , 2005 Jas, have you tried asking Scotlands People, The Official Govt. Source of Genealogical Data for Scotland: http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/index.aspx or there's:http://www.1837online.com/ to get his death cert. Kath. kinnethmont Posted 1 November , 2005 Author Share Posted 1 November , 2005 Kath There is no record of him at Scotlandspeople. I could not find him at 1837 online either, the death was early in 1917.
