SDGW look up help

Hello,

Can someone please help by checking on Lt. GKG Kerr who served in the KSLI (on 14/15 star) and later the RFC (on BWM & VM).

I've checked the CWGC site and the only RFC/RAF Kerr was RW Kerr.

Also, what is the reason for a medal being impressed RFC instead of RAF? Wasn't the change made in April 1918?

Thanks

Tony

Hello Tony,

There is no Lt. G.K.G Kerr listed on the officers died c.d.

The only G Kerr listed is a 2/Lt G.A.L Kerr k.i.a with the Bedfords.

Spud

Tony,

Had a second thought and had a look in 'The Sky Their Battlefield' book, this lists all allied air casualties from enemy action (ww1). No mention of your chap in this book either.

Spud

Hi Tony

The Regimental History list a Lt. G.K.S. kerr. Who sailed with the 6th Battalion on 22nd July 1915. Not sure if this is your man, I will look at my notes on the 6th Battalion.

The regiment/corps/unit on the medal will be the one the man was in when his service qualified him for the medal.
