Bob Coulson Posted 18 October , 2005 Share Posted 18 October , 2005 Today's man is local to me, George Cunningham was born in Bishop Auckland and enlisted in Middlesbrough. He was KIA with the 2nd battalion during an attack on Bite & Bayonet Trenches close to the Le Transloy Ridges near Guedecourt, the battalion suffering 214 total casualties in this action. George Cunningham is remembered at Thiepval and also on Middlesbrough War Memorial at Albert Park. Bob.
