AGWR Posted 16 November , 2005 Share Posted 16 November , 2005 Steve, If I too could possibly take advantage of all your hard work. Would it be considered excessively cheeky to ask for a list of all the Middlesex MMs? I would imagine that there are a fair few... Regards, AGWR
Stebie9173 Posted 16 November , 2005 Author Share Posted 16 November , 2005 ALL of them???!!!! Ok, no problem. Ye'll be wanting 1917 too? If you want an excel file (i.e. sortable) then PM me your e-mail address. Approx 250 MMs in 1916 and 300 in 1917. Probably be the weekend before I can sort it, if that's ok... Steve. Paul Nixon Posted 19 November , 2005 Share Posted 19 November , 2005 Steve Could you tell me when RSM Thomas Pateman of the 4t Queen's Hussars first gets a mention please. It would be prior to November 1916 I believe. Many thanks Paul

Kenners Posted 5 December , 2005 Share Posted 5 December , 2005 Hello Steve, I'm new to this site, but was wondering if you have any info on my Gt Grandfather, Joseph Eakins, 7th Bat Royal Irish Rifles (Reg No 5576) - Presumed Dead 6/9/16. My apologies if I am in the wrong forum - there's so much info at hand, it's difficult to know where to start! Many thanks Kenners
Stebie9173 Posted 5 December , 2005 Author Share Posted 5 December , 2005 Not quite the right place but here is Joseph's Medal Index Card download page. Medal card of Eakins, Joseph Corps Regiment No Rank Royal Irish Rifles 5/5575 Private http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documen...1&resultcount=5 There is a slight difference in the number but I'm sure it's him. The 5/ prefix would suggest he was originally with the 5th Battalion. this was a Reserve Battalion in the Uk from which replacements were drawn. He would later have been transferred to the 7th Battalion, of course. See the link to the Long, Long Trail above to discover what to do with the MIC! £3.50 to download, I'm afraid. Hope this helps, Steve.

SteveE Posted 5 December , 2005 Share Posted 5 December , 2005 Can I please take advantage of your offer for lookups in your database for Royal Fusiliers with service numbers between 12803 & 13800 and also between 14817 & 15177. Hope this is not too big an ask. Regards Steve
Mark Hone Posted 5 December , 2005 Share Posted 5 December , 2005 Could I cadge a lookup for the date of this MM: 6683 Serjeant Roger Smith, No 1 Company, 16th battalion The Manchester Regt (Manchester Pals). He was killed on 15/10/16 aged 26. I assume he won his MM sometime during 1916. Ta

Stebie9173 Posted 6 December , 2005 Author Share Posted 6 December , 2005 No problem, Steve. Had to put request on back burner for a while. Not enough hours in the day! I should have PM'd you to say I'd got the message... Steve.
JOSTURM Posted 13 December , 2005 Share Posted 13 December , 2005 Steve, Could you please send me the MM Gazettes for the 5th London and 9th Londons please. Regards and thanks Peter
Stebie9173 Posted 13 December , 2005 Author Share Posted 13 December , 2005 Ok, Peter. Two things to bear in mind: There are 700+ for the London regiment for 1916 alone... The Gazette doesn't list the exact units so the only thing you can go by is the re-number after 1-3-1917 (the 1917 MMs are more likely to be to men still with their unit as of 1-3-17) PM me your e-mail and I'll send an Excel spreadsheet with all the Londons. I have a bit of a backlog so bear with me. (The Londons are already saved as an Excel file so they are ready to go, unlike some I still have to compile.) Steve. Alan Abbott Posted 15 April , 2006 Share Posted 15 April , 2006 Hi Steve, Could I trouble you for the MM's for the Royal Scots Fusiliers. I've had great trouble in the past trying to get the LG to release it's secrets, even with trying to follow the online advice on using the search engine. Many thanks, Alan.
