Nicolas G. Posted 4 August , 2003 Share Posted 4 August , 2003 Goodnight, So I inaugurate that new section (hope it's the right one for this post)! Here is the first one of some ww1 artefacts I can't identify. Could somebody help me ? I think it is part of an automatic pistol but the piece don't match it seems. Nicolas G. Posted 8 August , 2003 Author Share Posted 8 August , 2003 Thank you Ian. But I must confess I am not so sure. It's no really match with what can be see on some webpages with luger or whith a past thread with pictures of Egbert rusty one on cleaning. But you are the specialist not me ! Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 8 August , 2003 Share Posted 8 August , 2003 I am no expert! My ID is based on the fact that the barrel is right and the raise piece at the end is the toggle mount. Remember you have to look at it in the simplest broken down form. Ian
CROONAERT Posted 10 August , 2003 Share Posted 10 August , 2003 If memory serves me correctly, the barrel of a P08 doesn't seperate from it's main housing. Also, most SLP barrels tend to be shorter and positioned in front of the breach. The occasional one can be found where the barrel encompasses the breach, but these tend to have a slot on two sides (one to allow the entry of the round from the magazine, and the other to allow the ejection of the spent cartridge). Someone's probably likely to prove me wrong here, but I don't think it's part of an SLP at all. Dave.
