Can anybody tell me if there is one Memorial to the Q.O.W.K. regiment within the U.K. or in France. I know there's one for the Tank Corps and other Regiments etc.

Reason for asking, I have just found out that 2 Grand Uncles killed in Action, France, the first was killed in 1915, and the other was killed near the end in 1918. Yes they both have graves in different cementary's.

From memory there is a plaque to them in St George's Memorial Church in Ypres, but there is no regimental memorial. The 7th Bn fought with the 18th (Eastern) Division, who have two memorials on the Somme and another at Ypres, and the 6th Bn were with the 12th (Eastern) Division who has memorials at Arras and Epehy. Hope thay helps.

I believe the QOWK memorial is in Maidstone, Kent. Situated in Brenchly Park, near Maidstone East Railway station, it is a copy of the cenotaph -raised sarcophagus type memorial. It is plain - no names listed.
