BURTON ON TRENT - I need a photograph of the grave marker for Sarah Hall Shotton, VAD, who is buried in Stapenhall Cemetery, 38 Stapenhall Road, Burton on Trent. She was interred on the 5th September 1916 and was aged 62.
Jim Strawbridge Posted 2 February , 2017 Author Share Posted 2 February , 2017 (edited) 1 hour ago, Heid the Ba' said: Jim Which Edinburgh cemetery? I can possibly get St Andrews as well. EDINBURGH - Frances Marion MONEY, VAD, is buried in Dean 2d Cemetery, Edinburgh. I need a photograph of her headstone or plot (if unmarked). It is multi-occupied with Marion Adamson, Norah Newbigging, an unnamed Money baby, Peter Alexander Young, Norman Campbell Young and E.F.D. Money. Because of multi occupancy with no apparent family connections I suspect that the grave is unmarked. L.A.E. PALMER, VAD is a name on an Honours Board in Edinburgh Library. A photograph of her/his name on it is required. ST. ANDREWS - Mary Gregson CHEETHAM died 10th January 1920 and is buried in Eastern Cemetery, St. Andrews. A photo of her grave marker required. Kenny Bell (a forum member here) has been a prolific photographer for me in Scotland and worth giving him a PM so as to not duplicate work (see post 1726 above). Alisonmallen62 Posted 2 February , 2017 Share Posted 2 February , 2017 Ok will pop down to Stapenhill and as it happens the pub right beside the cemetery, The Elms, is a favourite! It is a fascinating place and a lot of war graves there. Will send photo as soon as possible.

Alisonmallen62 Posted 23 February , 2017 Share Posted 23 February , 2017 Jim, who you after in Ystrad Mynach, Tredegar, Ebbw Vale and Llantwit please? Chance my relatives may be able to get photos
Jim Strawbridge Posted 25 February , 2017 Author Share Posted 25 February , 2017 Hello Alison, Here are my requirements :- Ystrad Mynach - The name of D. Parry Jones is on the Roll of Honour in the Bethiana-Siloh Calvanistic Chapel. A photograph of it required. Also the name of Amy Laura Whitcombe , QMAAC is shown on the Ystrad Mynach and Hengoed Cenotaph. Tredegar - The names of Hetty Onions and Rose Powell are on the Roll of Honour formerly in the Wesleyan Chapel, Harcourt Terrace, Tredegar. As I have it as "formerly" I wonder if it has been moved to another chapel nearby. Ebbw Vale - Mary Ann Evans, QMAAC, is buried in Ebbw Vale cemetery in "B", North border. 16.3. I know that the CWGC has a memorial stone at the entrance to the cemetery but I am hoping that the reference shown will be the actual grave - probably unmarked. Also the name of Doris Genner, WAAC, is at the bottom of a memorial in the James Street Weslyan Chapel although it may have been moved to the Cenotaph. Also Lizzie John, munition worker, is buried in Ebbw Vale Cemetery, Waun-Y-Pound Road. Photograph of her grave marker (or unmarked grave) required. Llantwit Major - Eva Martha Davies, VAD, is buried in St. Illtud churchyard, Llantwit Major. A photograph of her grave marker required. A photograph of her name off the Llantwit Major War Memorial required.

Jim Strawbridge Posted 8 March , 2017 Author Share Posted 8 March , 2017 Hello Greg, Sorry to hear that you have become unemployed for a while. Glad to hear that you don't intend to be idle. Many of the South Wales ones I managed to clear on a three day break from Devon about three years ago. Then I found the resting place to a number of munition girls and so my "wants" built up again. Anyway, here are my current requirements :- GLAMORGANSHIRE, Aberdare, Cardiff, Crynant, Ebbw Vale, Llandaff, Llandough, Llanharry, Llantwit Major, Lstalyfera (or Ystalyfera), Neath, Pontypridd, Southerndown, Swansea, Ton Petre, Ystalyfera, Ystrd Mynach Aberdare - Augusta DEVISCH died 2nd February 1916 and is buried in Aberdare cemetery. Crynant - Elizabeth THOMAS, QAIMNS, died 27th September 1921 and is buried in Crynant. Not sure which cemetery/churchyard if there is more than one. Ebbw Vale - Mary Ann EVANS, QMAAC, is in section B, North border, 16.3. Whilst her name is on a CWGC memorial stone (which I have) the position shown is her grave (possibly unmarked). It is a photograph of the grave (unmarked or not) that I require. She may just be the same woman as below. Mary Olwen EVANS, QMAAC, died 23rd March 1919 and is buried in Ebbw Vale. Not sure which cemetery/churchyard if there is more than one. Doris GENNER's name is on a memorial in James Street Weslyan Chapel (now at Cenotaph). Llandaff - in Stone Hall, Howell's School, Llandaff is a memorial to nurses Kate BANKS and Gertrude ROSKELL. Photograph required. Llandough - Emily Ada PICKFORD's name is on a brass Roll of Honour in Llandough Baptist Church, Llandough. Llanharry - The name of Maud WILLIAMS is on a memorial in Penuel Chapel, Llanharry. Also Mary FITZMAURICE, munition worker is in plot 251W, Danygraig cemetery and I need a photograph of it (with or without headstone). Ystrd Mynach - the name of Edith HUMPHRIES is on a Roll of Honour in Bethania-Siloh Calvanistic Chapel, Ystrd Mynach.
