Blank Headstone

Yesterday in Cambrin Churchyard Extension I came across this Headstone. I have never seen a headstone like this before and was wondering why this headstone had no details whatsoever.

These are not uncommon.

They are found in rows of headstones which usually bear more than one name and there is insufficient room for a cross on each one. In such circumstances this 'blank' stone with a cross is placed in the row to fulfil the function for all the other stones nearby.

Thanks Terry,

This cemetery does have a large proportion of headstones bearing three names on each headstone.
