stiletto_33853 Posted 27 September , 2005 Share Posted 27 September , 2005 Yesterday in Cambrin Churchyard Extension I came across this Headstone. I have never seen a headstone like this before and was wondering why this headstone had no details whatsoever.
Terry Denham Posted 27 September , 2005 Share Posted 27 September , 2005 These are not uncommon. They are found in rows of headstones which usually bear more than one name and there is insufficient room for a cross on each one. In such circumstances this 'blank' stone with a cross is placed in the row to fulfil the function for all the other stones nearby.
stiletto_33853 Posted 27 September , 2005 Author Share Posted 27 September , 2005 Thanks Terry, This cemetery does have a large proportion of headstones bearing three names on each headstone. Andy
